POSITION: Credit Counselor

This full-time position is funded by a grant from Rural Development which enables us to identify and prepare potential homebuyers to obtain affordable mortgages. The Credit Counselor will evaluate the creditworthiness of the homebuyer applicants and provide education that will assist them in maintaining their credit and learning about the process of obtaining a mortgage loan to purchase a home. The Credit Counselor will also provide post-purchase counseling, including assistance with budgeting financial resources and maintaining the home.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES There is no credit counseling experience required; however, the Credit Counselor must possess good writing and computer skills; must be willing to obtain 3-5 years experience in credit counseling and training programs provided further funding is received for the position.
