Asset Building Strategies - Native Loan Funds Moving Our Communities
CNHA invites you to attend a plenary session at the 7th Annual Native Hawaiian Convention, featuring a presentation by Mr. William Guevara, First Nations Oweesta Corporation, a national nonprofit promoting Native Asset Building initiatives for Native Hawaiians, Alaska Natives and American Indians. Oweesta, in partnership with the U.S. Treasury Department, is changing the landscape in the asset building field in Native communities, growing the capacity of community-based organizations to establish Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), creating loan funds for educational tuition, home purchases, and small business start ups.
